A highly original thinker, he struggled with the inconsistencies between the teachings of Aristotle and those of St. empiricism, also greatly influence modern philosophic thought ( 3). His extensive writings profoundly influenced theologians and philosophers during the 14th and early 15th centuries ( 2). After joining the Franciscan Order, he studied theology and philosophy at Oxford, where he rapidly emerged as the leading medieval English philosopher. This tiny village is 25 miles southwest of London ( Fig. in the village of Ockham in Surrey, England. Who was Ockham and what is his razor? William of Ock-ham was born around 1285 A.D. An obvious question arises: how can we adapt to these changes by thought and action?
